What is a good typing speed?
Many adults type between 35 and 45 words per minute. 60 WPM or more is fast, and above 80 is very fast.
How is WPM calculated?
Every five correct characters count as one word, divided by the minutes you typed. Mistakes are not counted.
How can I type faster?
Keep your fingers on the home row, look at the screen and not at the keys, and practise a few minutes every day. Accuracy first, speed second.
Why can't I paste text?
Pasting is turned off so the test measures real typing.
