QR Code Generator
Turn a link or any text into a QR code. Download it as PNG or SVG.
Quick answer: Paste a link or text, and the QR code appears at once. Download it as PNG or SVG. These are static codes that never expire and need no account.
How to use it
- Paste a link or type any text.
- Pick the size. Use the Print size for posters. Keep dark code on a light background.
- Download the PNG for screens and documents, or the SVG for printing at any size.
- Scan it with a phone camera before you print many copies.
Error correction levels
| Level | Damage it can survive | Use when |
|---|---|---|
| Low | about 7% | Clean screens, short links |
| Medium | about 15% | Most everyday uses |
| Quartile | about 25% | Printed on stickers or packaging |
| High | about 30% | Rough surfaces, or a logo placed on top |
How much can a QR code hold?
| Content type | Most you can store (largest code) |
|---|---|
| Numbers only | 7,089 digits |
| Letters and numbers (capitals) | 4,296 characters |
| Any text, links (bytes) | 2,953 characters |
Shorter content makes a simpler code that scans faster and works at a smaller size. For a printed code, leave a plain margin around it (the tool adds a four-square margin) and make it at least about 2 cm (0.8 inch) wide.

Questions
How do I make a QR code?
Paste your link or text into the box and the code appears. Then download it.
What is the difference between PNG and SVG?
PNG is a fixed-size picture. SVG is a scalable drawing that stays sharp at any size, which is best for printing.
Can I change the colours?
Yes. Keep strong contrast, with the code darker than the background, or it may not scan.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static codes, so the content is stored in the pattern itself. They work as long as the link or text is still valid.
Is my information uploaded?
No. The code is drawn in your browser, so your links and passwords stay on your device.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no install and no limit.
Is anything saved or sent?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Only your own best score, where a page shows one, is kept on your device.
