GPA Calculator
Add your courses, grades and credits to get your GPA on the 4.0 scale. Honors and AP courses can be weighted.
Quick answer: Pick a letter grade and the credits for each course to get your GPA. For example an A (4.0) and a B (3.0) in two courses of equal credits give a 3.50 GPA. You can add your earlier GPA to get a cumulative one.
How to use it
- For each course choose the letter grade and type the credit hours.
- Press Add a course for more rows.
- Your GPA appears at once. To include earlier terms, open the cumulative box and type your current GPA and credits.
How GPA is calculated
Each grade has grade points. Multiply the points by the credits for each course, add them up, and divide by the total credits. Two 3-credit courses with an A and a B are (4.0 × 3 + 3.0 × 3) ÷ 6 = 3.5.
Standard 4.0 scale
| Letter | Grade points | Typical percent |
|---|---|---|
| A+ / A | 4.0 | 93 to 100 |
| A- | 3.7 | 90 to 92 |
| B+ | 3.3 | 87 to 89 |
| B | 3.0 | 83 to 86 |
| B- | 2.7 | 80 to 82 |
| C+ | 2.3 | 77 to 79 |
| C | 2.0 | 73 to 76 |
| C- | 1.7 | 70 to 72 |
| D+ | 1.3 | 67 to 69 |
| D | 1.0 | 63 to 66 |
| D- | 0.7 | 60 to 62 |
| F | 0.0 | below 60 |
Weighted GPA
Many high schools add a point to AP and IB classes and half a point to honors classes, so the top GPA can be 5.0. Here, honors adds 0.5 and AP/IB adds 1.0 to grades above F, a common convention. Schools differ, and some use 4.3 for an A+, so use your school's own scale for official numbers.

Questions
How do I calculate my GPA?
Multiply each grade's points by its credits, add those up, and divide by the total credits.
What is a good GPA?
3.0 is a B average and is often the minimum for scholarships and many programs. 3.5 or higher is strong. Requirements vary.
How do I calculate a cumulative GPA?
Open the cumulative box and enter your current GPA and the credits it covers.
Does an F count?
Yes. An F is 0 points, so it lowers your GPA while the credits still count.
Is this my official GPA?
No. Your school's calculation is the official one, because scales and rounding differ.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no install and no limit.
Is anything saved or sent?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Only your own best score, where a page shows one, is kept on your device.
