Grade Calculator

Enter your scores and what each counts for to get your current grade in the course.

Quick answer: Enter each score and its weight. For example Homework 92% (weight 20), Quizzes 85% (weight 15) and Midterm 78% (weight 25) give a current grade of 84.4%, based on the 60% of the course counted so far.

How to use it

  1. Type the score for each assignment or category, in percent.
  2. Type its weight, which is how much of the course grade it counts for.
  3. Your current grade is the weighted average of the rows you filled in. Add more rows as grades come in.

How it is calculated

Multiply each score by its weight, add those up, and divide by the total of the weights you have so far. The weights do not need to add up to 100 until the course is finished.

Example

ItemScoreWeightPoints
Homework92%2018.4
Quizzes85%1512.75
Midterm78%2519.5
Total so far6050.65

50.65 divided by 60 is 0.8442, so about 84.4%, when the points are added exactly. Use the final grade calculator to find what you need on the exam.
